Commentary and poem on Sir Humphry Davy [manuscript], after 1830.

This unsigned excerpt is likely by John Ayrton Paris, as it is similar to a section in his Life of Sir Humphry Davy (and may be a draft). Commentary on Sir Humphry Davy's illnesses, which many attributed to the fumes, especially those of baryta, to which his experiments had exposed him. Quotes an epigram that voiced this opinion, beginning "Says Davy to Baryt, I've a strong inclination." Paris believes this "jeu d'esprit" was from the pen of Stephen Weston, who sent a copy of the lines only four days before his death.
